We're the organization guarding your retirement income from legislative changes that could reduce your pension. We've been fighting for years, and this is no time to stop. Pensions could be questioned here and all over the country at any time.
IRTA works tirelessly in the Indiana legislature to protect your future pension benefits. An experienced lobbyist, paid by IRTA, provides legislative representation, proposes legislation, obtains sponsors, and testifies at legislative committee meetings on behalf of IRTA members. Together, we can defend pensions.

Choose Your Membership
REGULAR MEMBER
To be eligible, you must either be a retired educator from Indiana or be the beneficiary of a retired educator who is receiving a pension from the Indiana State Teachers' Retirement Fund.
Your membership includes:
- Access to all benefits and special discounts.
- Access and invitations to special IRTA programs.
- A voice in the Indiana General Assembly on matters pertaining to your pension.
- A subscription to the quarterly newsletter, The Bulletin Board.
LIFETIME MEMBER
We offer lifetime memberships that require a one-time payment or three-yearly installments, depending on your age:

ASSOCIATE MEMBER
We welcome active educators, spouses of retired teachers, and others who do not receive an educator's pension to join as an associate member.
