See Elvis’s America with AMBA Passport

July 26, 2022

With Baz Luhrman’s new smash hit film “Elvis” reigniting passion for the King of Rock and Roll, there isn’t a better time for an Elvis destination vacation. From the 45th anniversary of Elvis Week in Memphis to a trip to Vegas, AMBA Passport can help cover the cost of everything from your pink Cadillac rental to a penthouse suite and even new televisions.

Elvis Week in Memphis

Elvis Presley’s legacy is alive and well in Memphis, where every August, thousands of fans from around the world come together to celebrate this iconic artist’s life, music and movies.

Since the King's death, the gathering now known as Elvis Week pays tribute to all things Elvis in a fun and exciting environment, with many festivities at or around Presley's Graceland Mansion. There are tours, music performances, tributes, and more.

While in Memphis, be sure to visit Sun Studios, where Elvis – along with Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and more – famously were discovered and began their recording career. You can stand in the very studio where Elvis cut his first sides and even hold the microphone he recorded with!

While you’re in Memphis, visiting Beale Street and hearing many of the same live blues music that inspired a teenage Presley is a must. Right on the corner is the Lansky Brothers store, which proudly bills itself as “The Clothier to the King”, has a terrific collection of vintage and new styles of clothes, shoes, and accessories. And the famous Peabody Hotel – where a young Elvis had his prom and a daily parade of ducks delights children – has a terrific lounge, filled with great drinks, high ceilings, and beautiful chandeliers.

Elvis in Vegas

Vegas is filled with statues and memorials of Elvis. The bronze statue in the lobby of the Las Vegas Hilton is a favorite among fans. You can also visit the site of Elvis’s 1967 wedding to Priscilla at The Aladdin Hotel, now a Planet Hollywood.

Of course, an Elvis Vegas trip wouldn’t be complete without sites from his classic movie “Viva Las Vegas”. One of the most historic Elvis locations is The Flamingo Hotel, the site of that iconic pool scene in the film. Another site is at the oldest building on the Las Vegas strip, the Little Church of the West was where Elvis and Ann-Margret recited their vows in the movie.

And what would a Vegas trip be without visiting the Westgate Las Vegas, originally known as the International Hotel and later the Las Vegas Hilton, this is where Elvis performed for 58 consecutive sold-out shows that broke all Las Vegas attendance records. Elvis lived in the penthouse suite of the hotel on the 30th floor.
