What’s better than enjoying waffles with loved ones on Valentine’s Day? Making Heart-Shaped Waffle sandwiches to celebrate the special day! These crispy, creamy heart sandwiches are a sweet and delicious treat that everyone will adore.
This recipe takes a beloved breakfast food and creatively transforms them into a holiday themed sandwich. And even better than making them for your loved ones? These delicious treats are so easy and fun to make, this recipe is a great way to spend quality time with them!
From using a cookie cutter to cut the bread into hearts, filling the bread with cream cheese and raspberries and finally, and popping the bread into the waffle iron, there’s plenty of easy, fun steps for everyone to get in on the fun.
One other great thing about this recipe is it’s completely customizable! Instead of cream cheese and raspberries, try out peanut butter and jelly – the taste is totally incredible! This spin on the classic sandwich gives a whole new flavor – and it looks as amazing as it tastes!
Waffle Heart Sandwiches (serves 2)
Prep Time: 2 mins
Cook Time: 4 mins
Ingredients
- 4 slices sandwich bread
- 2 tablespoons whipped cream cheese
- honey, to taste
- 6-8 fresh raspberries
Preparation
- Preheat waffle iron.
- Using a large heart shaped cookie cutter, cut the bread into hearts.
- Spread half the cream cheese on 1 heart and drizzle with honey to taste. Flatten the raspberries by opening them up with your fingers. Place 3-4 raspberries on top of the cream cheese and top with another plain piece of heart bread. Place the sandwich in the waffle iron for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
- Repeat with remaining ingredients and serve.
